Here are some more pictures taken at the zoo. When I was young, I used to clomp around rather heavily, at least for my diminutive weight, and was told I was like a baby elephant. Not so much, I think. The baby elephant here is probably lighter on her feet and more graceful than ever I was.

Two of the people we met at the party offered to drive us around for a while to see some things we could not get to by train or tram, so on Tuesday we took the train to Frankston and Liz collected us in her car. After a look a the wet bit, we went on to collect Trish - where we drank tea, looked at here excellent artwork, and took photographs and videos of the birds on her balcony.

One high point of the visit was feeding the kangaroos at the animal sanctuary way out from the city.

After the visit to the animal sanctuary, we returned and I sorted out a couple of minor computer problems for Liz, with the result that the place where we had intended to eat dinner had just stopped serving when we arrived at a few minutes after nine. We found somewhere else to eat, a little closer to the city, and I ate the best steak I can remember (with mush room sauce), in a small restaurant that looked like a relatively unassuming pizza takeaway.
On the Wednesday we went to the Melbourne museum, and looked at exhibits until our feet hurt, ate lunch, and looked at more. The food in the cafe was better than in many such places. On Thursday morning we visited the aquarium, and in the afternoon we went to the science fiction conventiion, where we spent a lot of our time until mid afternoon on Monday. I found some free books left out by a writer, to give readers a first taste of her work, and I found the first of the trilogy so interesting that I bought the second, and got them both signed by the author, Trudi Canavan. Clearly her plan worked!

There were some good costumes, both masquerade and hall costumes.

We also met friends for dinner, and ate some good meals. We visited a nearby Gurkha restaurant twice, and both times I ate the goat curry because I had enjoyed it so much.
If I can manage to post the final part, it will include the visit to the Dandenongs and some images of Melbourne.
