Afgter reading Blink, I went to a url given in the book, and tried a sample online test at Project Implicit designed to determine unconscious bias, for want of a better short description. The one I chose was preference between two racial types.

Of course, it may be incompletely valid because it is designed for USA cultural inbuilt responses. However, I was still glad that the result I received was what I hoped would be the case:

" Your data suggest little to no automatic preference between African American and European American."

I wonder if that translates to Europeans as well.

I know my bias well without taking a test: I am very biased against all such thought police. Not surprising that it comes from Harvard, the original Puritan bastion of self-righteousness. It is just over a hundred years now since the movement originated there to remove all immigrant Catholic children from their parents in order to "save" American democracy, presumably from papal usurpation. Amazing how it doesn't change....
