Jul. 20th, 2004 11:45 pmSoftware is getting more and more intrusive. I just had to update Real player - which I only use to listen to programs I missed from the BBC website. Material world is one such.
The latest update asked for email address, and a whole bunch of personal information I was not willing to tell it, so I braved the stern warning that I would only get the default settings if I didn't register it. I might have been tempted if the "personalised" settings would stop it installing itself in the registry every time I use it, so I have to delete it *again* <sigh>.
Now that the Beeb is trying to look good for its licence review, I wonder if it might consider using streaming MP3 as an alternative to the irritating Real Player?
The O-zone track I have on the CD is the best thing I have heard all year - highly recommended. The video is good and is still getting plays on the hits channel. The CD has the "original" and several other mixes.
