I'm pleased that is over
May. 29th, 2008 08:35 pmI just returned from a visit to the dentist, having two large and old fillings replaced. I was starting to get pain on the upper one when eating anything that I had to bit on with any force. That started just a week before my regular check-up, so I wasn't surprised to be told that one needed to be replaced. It seemed that the one on the lower tooth was looking dodgy, and probably going to start hurting soon. By the time of the appointment to do the work, it was getting difficult to eat my breakfast cereal, so it is good to have the job done.
The normal anaesthetic injection didn't remove the pain adequately, so she gave me a second one, and that gave me a pain-free hour in the chair. Shame there isn't an anaesthetic to dull the pain of the bill.
Of course, with so much anaesthetic, the effects are taking a while to wear off. I am looking forward to the time I will be able to taste a cup of coffee. From the words of a song Maybe tomorrow - maybe some day.
