A hobbitish dinner
Aug. 12th, 2007 12:57 amYes, we ate ourselves to a standstill. Then we filled up the corners.
sigisgrim,
amalion, and
elanor_isolda came to dinner and we had a great evening. Roast rib of beef, with Yorkshire pudding as a starter as we do in Yorkshire. There were even some potatoes and parsnips left, and we have some cold beef left - though only a tithe of what we started with (a piece two ribs thick).
Then this evening we spent feasting in the style of Tasmania with
muuranker, ex-memsec, Steve and Angie. Truly superb! I'd never eaten a barbecued kangaroo burger before, but I would like to do so again. The soup was a treat as well. What can I say - the diet starts tomorrow;-)
So does the second concurrent course of antibiotics for a minor bug that has been making me gradually more tired and run down for just over 3 weeks. I figure that waiting an extra 36 hours is not significant, when the second concurrent batch tells me to AVOID ALCOHOL. Big feast and no wine? Does not compute!
Now I don't think I shall have much reason to be bothered if I can't take another alcoholic drink for ten days or so, because I don't think there is any major celebration or big dinner happening in that time. And, my work and the TS website need a dose of catching up when the antibiotics restore me to better working order, so it would be best to drink nothing stronger than coffee and concentrate on the long list of tasks for a week or two.
