We visited [livejournal.com profile] rustica at the weekend, the first time we had seen her cottage somewhere in Oxfordshire. We couldn't find a pub that was both salubrious and open, but there was beer and wine to drink, food to eat, and some very funny DVDs (in Russian, subtitled) to watch, back at the cottage.

She even helped me to revise a bit of maths I have not used in anger for a long while.

A fine way to spend the main part of the weekend!

Hmm, revising maths ... potentially a good idea, given my plans to do a Masters!

Yes, there is more maths that one could learn than there is time in the human life to learn it, and there is a lot one could actually use from time to time if only it was to hand.

It was the vector product I had forgotten the significance of, and that came up because I was trying to remember some stuff about the Poynting vector. I still haven't totally grasped what I want to understand, but may have another go.
